Chili oil is vegetable oil in which hot chili peppers were soaked. The oil is filtered, its color tends towards light reddish and it adopts the hotness and the scent of chili peppers. The oil is used mainly as added flavoring to prepared dishes – soups, noodle dishes or rice dishes – before they are served, but can also be added to marinades and sauces and used as flavoring while stir-frying.
